Brake lights don't work

I did the obvious fuse checking - even went ahead and checked every single fuse in the Jeep, they all work

Headlights, taillights, turn signals, reverse lights, hazards all work

Checked the bulb, both filaments are good

Didn't replace the brake light switch, but I did unplug the old one, plug in the new one and pressed and released the button repetitively to no avail

I was told that if the turn signals work, that's a good sign the wiring is still good, as the turn signal and brakes use the same wires

I'm now at a loss...any ideas?

Are you getting power into the brake light switch? How about out of the switch?

If it has tracks, tires or tits, its gonna cause a problem.

Try activating the 4 ways (hazards) several times. Seems to be a common problem

Sorry for my own failure to keep up here and close the loop.

After much searching I did both things recommended above to no avail. I was finally able to get a friend to take a look at the Jeep and he noticed my own idiocy. The fuse for the brake lights was in the wrong spot. There were a few other electrical problems I was having before the brake lights, so I pulled all the fuses to check them. Apparently I put this one back in the wrong spot.

He was able to fix the other issues by replacing a bad relay.

Takes a real man to admit his mistakes.

except me I don't make mistakes.

I thought I did once but I was mistaken.

If it's not supposed to move and does use duct tape.
If it's supposed to move and doesn't use WD40

I logged in to suggest checking the grounds behind the taillights and the relay. Looks like you beat me to it!
