brake booster leak? tell me what you think

I happened to just be sitting in my jeep today with it idling with my foot on the brake. As i let up i heard a "whooooosh" noise from the booster area that would last as long as i held it in a particular position.. the whooshing went away once i pressed it to the floor or let up on the pedal. The noise is unmistakeably air rushing through a narrow opening.. however since it doesn't stop it makes me think it's a leak or am i just at a point where both a release valve is open as well as the vacuum feed? idle doesn't seem to change when i do this..

am i paranoid? or could this be a problem.
