Brake booster Bad?

How can you tell if a brake booster is bad. I have the 1995 booster in my 1994.

A bad booster shows itself with a very hard brake pedal; you almost need 2 feet on the pedal to stop. A vacuum leak at the booster will cause this as well.

Well Its working then. I just installed all new brake line, new porportioning valve and new master, and used brake booster from a 1995 wrangler. I also did the 8.8 with disc brakes. I have bled the lines completely but when you step on the peddle its mussy at first then hardens up. The old system was an anti lock but I removed it all after the 8.8 install. I was wondering maybe I have the lines coming out of the porportioning valve wrong.

Or you put the calipers on the 8.8 backwards. The nipple should be at the top, not the bottom. If nipple is at the bottom, switch sides with them.

Did you bench bleed the new master cylinder before you put it on?

Your not pulling my leg are you? I just went out and checked and the nipple for bleeding the brakes is at the bottom.

Are you sure he doesn't need to flip the axle over?
