Purchased in February this year - should be on the road heading for an inspection in 2-weeks from this weekend

did a total frame off in 5 years of weekends, but that includes a year off while the house was being rebuilt after a major fire and absolutely nothing being done during the winter months

1991, 181,000 miles, on the road instantaneously ... nothing rebuilt yet (but some parts have been replaced).

Took me about a year and a half to take my jeep from a rusty mess that belonged in a scrap yard to a stretched and coil sprung weekend warrior

Sounds like you're whining, hoping others can reinforce/ratify your 6 years with a lack of proper life focus.

Are you this pessimistic in real life Don? Sounds to me like he is proud to be wrapping up a 6 year project.

My comment wasn't pessimistic at all, just dry humor that you missed.

Bought in Dec of '12 and that Christmas we tore it down to do the 8.8, floor rust repair, dash rebuild, Raptor liner, new seats, tires and wheels, etc, etc, etc, and had it back on the road Labor Day '13. This past Christmas we started re-gearing/rebuilding the front axle, cable CAD and a over the knuckle tie rod upgrade. We just finished it Memorial Day.

We must have a thing for using holidays as start and end dates for projects.

Bought mine in Mar/April 2013 and it's still on blocks in the garage. I knew I had bought a project, but life has gotten way too busy. I'm part of a good club out here in CT where I can ride shotgun when I have the itch to wheel, but I plan to make a lot of progress this summer. Found a few things that need taken care of that I didn't plan on having to deal with.

That is truth. I would love to work on my YJ for a couple hours every night, but with wife, kids and other responsibilities the YJ just sits most of the time. I'm not discouraged and it will get done, I just don't know when yet.
