probably a couple horses and a couple pound feat. its alot better if you also run a header.

I don't have the money for the headers as I am going to do other mods. I deffinitley know that headers would yield more gains because stocks headers are clunky and restrictive.. The designs of headers on the market are good but certainly could become better. Header length, way header is bent, diameter of the tubes in certain places, and most inportant the material... Hmmm maybe new header design if I could weld!!!

you can get a header for around 350 and a dynomax for around 140. not too much more than a borla. its all up to you though. i am running a pacesetter header with the dynomax and a 2 barrel empi carb. low end torque is great.

For $500 you can install a 4.0 head and cheap manifold and gain wayyy more than you ever would by fooling with the exhaust.

I got a borla header for super cheap but I would not spend retail money on it. There was a little noticeable gain in HP but not enough to worry about

I mainly want it for sound, my friend has the borla on his YJ, it sounds great. I have thought about the 4.0L head, but I have other mods that to do. But if I do have the $ for the head. What goes into putting the new head on? I don't have to rewire anything do I?

I am not in the camp of throwing a lot of money at things to make them sound good, no gain =no cash from me.

That's a great build up, It has sat in the back of my mind for the month that I have owned my jeep to be able to do this type of modification. When pay day comes, working all summer I will have money in hand then, it will be something that I will have to consider and sleep on. Do you think it would be easy for someone that has never torn into an engine?
