Bolt On SOA?!?! What IS this?

Ok, so I just get my new Q-tec catalog in and I'm reading it and right there on pg 127 is a bolt-on SOA kit (part #16062). Not much info on the Q-tec website, but it's in the catalog. No drilling or welding required!! Shock mounts are on the U-bolt plates (they do this on Blazers, seems like a good idea). Shocks sold seperately. $400. What is this? Anyone tried it and will we see more of this sort of thing in the future? I'm not ready for lifting yet but a bolt on SOA seems like a great idea if it is really sound. Thanks!

I don't know if you're talking about the same one or not, but Full-Traction just released a Bolt-on SOA Kit for just under $500.

Sounds a LOT like my Q-tec catalog, even called it the SPOA kit (instead of just SOA) and some of the wording is the same. Q-tec said that the discos were not included and were selling it for cheaper. They also advertised 4.5" instead of 5.5" But other than that it sounds the same. When I read this I was with YJ boy, sounds too good to be true. I wonder how reliable and how well the construction/design of it is or if it's a hack to avoid cutting/welding/drilling work? Well if anyone installs it please post so we know. I don't think I'm going to be a guinnea pig for this... Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing. I do have a question about the SOA thing though. Approx how much of a lift does the conversion give you?

THE FULL-TRACTION THAT WINGNUT IS TALKING ABOUT IS THE SAME KIT AS THE THE ONE IN THE Q-TEC CATALOG. I WOULD BE A LITTLE QUESTIONABLE ABOUT IT BUT IF YOU GET IF FROM Q-TEC THEY USUALLY ARE GREAT ABOUT BACKING THE PRODUCTS THEY SELL. I WOULD CALL Q-TEC AND ASK THEM IF THEY HAVE SOLD ANY YET AND WHAT KIND OF FEEDBACK THEY HAVE HAD ABOUT THEM.

IT SOUNDED GOOD NOT TOO LOUD WHEN ON THE GAS AND AT CRUISING SPEED IT SOUNDED MELLOW. WHEN I FIRST PUT IT ON I WAS AFRAID IT WAS GOING TO MAKE ME SOUND LIKE ONE OF THOSE STUPID CIVICS WITH THE CRAPPY COFFEE CAN EXHAUST SOUND BUT IF DIDN'T SO I WAS HAPPY THE ONLY PROBLEM IS I CRUNCHED IT ON A ROCK THE OTHER DAY AND IT DOESN'T SOUND SO GOOD. OH WELL THATS THE PRICE YOU HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE FUN
