Body Lift advice needed..

Good Morning gentlemen, I was pondering a 2 inch body lift on my beastie to get a little more tire clearance and some flex. I have a 95 with a 4 inch suspension lift on 33x12.50's, and my buddy suggested that I would need to get an SYE and extended driveshaft if I do lift the body. I really want to try to get away without spending 600 dollars on those parts right now, and was wondering if anyone had any success or failure stories about their body lifts and effects on the drivetrain. Thanks guys!

your buddy needs to get a -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=ing clue, bodylifts have nothing to do with driveline angles.

Everything that I have ever read tells me not to go bigger than a 1" body lift. I believe it makes the jeep unstable especially for off-roading. Other people may be able to give you more details as to why but I know 1" is the way to go.

Lifting the body higher off the frame has nothing to do with the driveline angles, SYE, or driveshafts.

If you want a 2" bodylift, put on in. Just be warned...you will have big ugly spaces between the body and frame rails.

I went with a 1" DayStar bodylift kit. Replaces the original body bushings AND lifts 1" at the same time.

If you are only rubbing a bit, I'm guessing you could do the 1" bodylift and either trim up your flares, or get some newer TJ-style flares, which require some body trimming.
HTH,

Good Deal. I will be ordering my body lift very soon. I wanted to ask a few body lift veterans however, with 2 inches will I probably need to cut any shifters? Also, will I need to mess with the brake lines at all? Any problems you encountered that maybe I could avoid? Thanks guys, I'll post pics when I'm done!!! Pz...

i did not have any problems with break lines on my 3in. just where it has the curls i just streched the curls. and had to take the fuel line out of one of the clips. and as far as teh shifter cutting goes i did not have to cut anything with my 3in. what size tires are you going to run after the BL? right now i have 35's and no bump stops and i think that i can actually fit 36's with out hitting the front fenders.
