Blazer blower motor mod fail!

I needed to replace my heater core so I figured it's a good time to do the blazer motor mod. All went ok till I turned on the heater blower. It will barely run on low fan speed and eventually come to a complete stop. On med and high it runs faster but makes all kinds of noises. It randomly speeds up then slows down and makes clicking noises.

Almost seems like the resistor is not matched for the larger motor.
Any ideas what might be wrong here?

I'm not familiar with the Blazer mod so I'll stick with troubleshooting 101 until someone else steps in. Did you verify that the donor blower was in good working condition? Does it spin solid with a full 12v applied?

It is a brand new motor from AZ.

I wondered why the baseball kept getting bigger and bigger....then it hit me!

Direct to battery

Like DirtKar hinted at -- apply a full 12 volts to the motor. Unplug the motor and hook some test leads from the battery to it.

If it works, then you might want to research what size resistor is in your jeep and what size is in a Blazer.

Thanks for the info...I will do that. There is only one plug with one wire going to the motor...How does it ground?

Great so I will test it tonight when I get home from work. If I give it a full 12 volts that should be like fan high speed....right?

If I remember correctly some of the motors have a motor spindle that sticks out a little to far. Could the fan be rubbing the housing? This would explain the stalling at less power and noise at higher.
