Here is mine. I can take better pictures a little closer to the jeep tomorrow if you'd like. Overall the fit was great. They won't just fall into place though, you will have to work with your doors and what not to get everything to seal right. Quality seems to be great and the only problems I have with my top are that it seems that they don't put velcro on the zipper flaps anymore, its just a flap that is sewn and you have to kind of peel it back to get to the zipper which can admittedly be a real pain in the *** sometimes. My boss has a supertop on his cj7 and his has flaps that are velcroed and can be pulled completely out of the way. I guess they changed the design though. It also it really loose when it gets hot and can be pretty loud on the highway. I have found that a shirt wedged in between the canopy and the main bow remedies that. but when its below 70 degrees it seems to shrink down and fit a lot better. Folding it down and putting it back up is really easy.

All in all I highly recommend this top if you have the coin, it is pretty expensive and spring for the tinted windows if you can they are very nice.

*edit* Oh and another problem I had with the top is that it is advertised as including everything you need to install it but when you get to the last page in the instructions you find out that the door surrounds aren't included and you have to buy those from your dealer. no biggie, i don't use them anyway, just makes the uppers harder to get off.

X2. I have the tinted windows on mine and I feel it is a good top. I fits good and it does not move around. I agree on the zippers sometimes being a pain, but what I did was put small round keyrings in the zipper so you can get your finger in it. I dont think you will be sorry if you get one. Good luck

I installed mine 2 weeks ago and I think is fine. I have a little bit of wind noise but nothing major. Maybe I need the "TOP PROP". The only problem is the connector to the windshield is missing so the rod is loose. Can I get this bracket/connector from any supplier or I will have to fabricate one? Haven't see this in any magazine or catalog. Here is a picture of the hardware so you have an idea.

Only had mine for about a week now. Fits much better than the factory one and is quieter on the highway too.

You can get that bracket from Bestop. 800-845-3567.

I think the part number is 137.96, but double check that. You can go to the Bestop.com website, find your soft top, then look at the installation guides. On page two of the install guide will be all the small parts that make up that product. You can order virtually every small part from us. But talk to the people on the phone - it's gets complicated (if they put both brackets together it makes a new part number, things like that).

I have a Bestop Supertop and it seems to fit good, but I have a whistle from the drivers side windshield area that's driving me crazy. Very good construction. I haven't put it down yet; seems a little more complicated than my 98 Bestop Supertop. Any hints, tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Just ordered my new Supertop from Quadratec. I am still running the original Bestop from 21 years ago, and the storms that ran through here on Sunday left me and the inside of the Jeep soaked to the bone.

Gonna stash it in the basement until the paint is all done and then try and get a few bucks for the old top off Craigslist or Ebay.

GEOFF - Thanks for your help and info the other day. Nice having guys like you paying attention to guys like us.

Nice Jeep!

The steps I usually follow to put mine down are:

1. Remove your side windows and roll up the rear window then button it up with the elastic cords that hang down from the main canopy

2. lower the tension bow all the way down on both sides

3. Now undo the velcro around the door surrounds, then remove the canopy from the windshield channel and as neatly as you can fold it back. I use a triangular type fold, kinda like I'm folding a flag up. Leave it buttoned to the tension bow because that will really help with putting it back up.

4. fold it all down into your trunk/cargo area.

5. I guess this step is sort of optional but i always do it because its easy and I think it looks better. undo the thumb screws on the door surrounds at the windshield, lift them up out of the retainer behind the doors on the tub, clip them into the plastic clips on the main bow and then fold the main bow all the way down against the tension bow. Then use the little elastic strap on the bow in your belt rail above the taillight to keep everything from jumping around too much on bumps.

Because you left, the canopy buttoned to the second bow putting everything back up is really easy just reverse the steps. Just pull the canopy out of your trunk and get it started in your windshield channel to hold it while you walk around and line the other side up.

It is a little more work than a tj or jk style top but I can have mine completely down or up in 5 minutes.

This was a great thread start. I'm actually going tomorrow to buy one off a guy from craigslist. He has all the parts except the windshield channel and only wants $200 for it. Thought it was a great deal after seeing pictures of it and the top looks great. This thread should help me a lot. Thanks everyone.

Ok here you go:

The main canopy has little velcro flaps that wrap around the metal door frame, and then the side windows velcro around it as well. The door has a soft rubber weatherstrip all the way around the edge that pushes up against the canopy and side windows. I didn't really like the way this design looks at first because the door uppers aren't really flush with the rest of the top like on a factory style. But I can say that the simplicity makes it really easy to adjust and It absolutely does not leak or flap around in the wind the way it looks like it might. It is very solid, and the look has grown on me, I think the supertops are a definite improvement on the factory style as far as looks go.
