Best YJ swing out tire carrier and bumper

Now that Eddie at GPF is no longer making bumpers what should I get? Who makes the best?

This will carry a 35" tire, on a YJ with a CJ tailgate. Ideally no rattles, Adjustable tire mount (in and up), hold open latch, 2" receiver,

Its on a YJ turned to CJ-8 so a good departure angle is important.

Thanks,
YJ-8

P.S. Also-- I own a welder so could be swayed to build my own if anyone has well sorted plans, but buying is my preference.

I prefer a tub mounted carrier. I used the TNT on my LJ and will be fabbing my own of similar design on my YJ.

4 points of contact (2 hinge, one at the cam lock and one at lower bumper pad on tub)

Solid and NO rattles!!!

Add a hatch back piston to it to keep it open even uphill on the trails.

Using a tub mount also increases your option for bumpers... or lack of for a clean departure angle...

Subjective but ORF is built heavy duty. My input for three best.

DIY body mount carrier, less than $100 iirc. Only works if you have corner armor though... Completely rattle free using simple cheap poly bushings

I'm not sure what the best is, but I have a Body Armor rear bumper with swing-away tire carrier. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Off-shore manufacture, crapy powder coating, and many holes didn't line up. However, it doesn't rattle at all.

Another vote for AtoZ builder kits. I've helped build a few on buddies jeeps and they work great. If they tighten the carrier up to the oem rubber bumper stoppers its 100% rattle free. I used to run one of their hinges in a 2x4 bumper with a 2x2 carrier till I decided it was easier to ratchet strap the spare in the bed when wheeling and leave the dead weight at home around town.
