belt mis-alignment

1990 sahara 4.2
The a/c compressor sticks out too far and throws the serp belt out of alignment. Eventually the belt comes off. Any suggestions? I bought the jeep used.

Shim it back to where its properly aligned. Or shim the others forward. I had to shim my waterpump pulley out so my belt didn't squeek

I don't feel like working on anything, at this time.

check all the accessory brackets for cracks, missing bolts, etc. I had to do some welding on my alternator bracket.

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.

That looks like your PS pump that is too far forward. The rear has two bolts that mount it to the bracket. The one closest to the camera is either loose or not set in correctly OR the PS shaft is going.

THAT is just my opinion based on the picture you took.

Had same issue on my 88...well...sort of.

Axles and bolts and springs....Oh My!

How about a pic from the other side? If you think the a/c compressor is too far out, it's gonna be hard to say looking from the other side.
