BDS rear leaf spring shifting

Im running 2 inch BDS springs SOA with 6 egree shims. for some reason the bottom leaf keeps shifting
Will a clamp fix this? like the one shown? The u bolts are tight to spec and beyond
I have to hit the leaf with a large hammer to fix it.
Any ideas?

from the angle of the pic, the spring look a bit bent... is there any chance the spring has been bent from over flex or inversion?
or was that pic taken with the springs hanging free?

It not bent and fairly new. the axle is on a jack stand at the time of the picture. What if I steel banded the leaf together?

If these are true BDS leafs and not Black Diamond then they have a life time warranty and BDS will replace the leaf pack. Just give them a call.

I've had springs fan like that when my center pins got jacked up. Maybe pop the ubolts loose and check to make sure the center pin is ok and that the shims havent distorted.

Could it be that the pins are still good? It looks to be just rotating and not sliding/moving.
The shims are not that old.
I know the correct answer is to take it all apart and re set the perches so a shims not needed.....some day,,

My black diamond springs have a small leaf on the bottom that always fans out after flexing and wheeling. I know the center pin is good because I just replaced it and I don't have shims because I set the pinion angle with the perches. I'm thinking about finding some kind of clamp but have been too lazy to do so.

One of mine shifted like that once when before I went SOA, I don't know what caused it, but I beat it back in place with a dead blow hammer and it hasn't moved again. Wouldn't hurt to just give BDS a call and see what they say or maybe shoot them an email with some pics.

You need some clamps like:
http://innovativediesel.com/i-1301622-leaf-spring-bend-clip-98-250-pro-comp-suspension.html
http://www.quadratec.com/products/16...googlemerchant
Mine did the same thing. After every trail ride, the springs would shift. I added the clamps and never had a problem again.

I was able to hammer the springs back into posistion.
Going to get one of these

The bolt style looks stronger. Does that bolt push up on the bottom of the spring drawing the cross bolt on to the spring mking a tight fit?
for 24 bucks i think its worth a try
