BBD Carb - Vapor lock???

On rare occasions my Jeep will stall approximately 20 seconds after start up.I found that this happens because the float needle gets jammed into the seat. I can usually free it by tapping on the flange where it is located, other times I just disassemble the flange to free it. Replacing the needle and seat cures the problem for about six months. I've tweaked out the carb to where it otherwise runs quite well. I'm not planning a Weber upgrade anytime soon. Does anyone have experience or remedy for this?

I was having similar problems with my 88 YJ and messed around with the carb for about 3 months before I finally just yanked the stock carb off and put a Weber on. I am sure all the guys in here that have the Webers will tell you the same thing...."Remarakble improvement in every aspect of performance." You can play around with your carb more or just bite the bullet and invest in a Weber.

Is this the stock carb? if so they are prone for trouble look at upgrading to a weber k551 or k550 or if you have the dough fuel injection. I recently replace my carter with the k551 kit which has a 32/36 weber. NICE
