Bastard Pack help please?

Iv heard the term, done a little research but havent seen exactly how it works. I know its been hit many times but im busy with work and school and figured id just ask directly. What is it? how does it work? How much $? how hard to do? Do you need to get new shocks too if you do it? and any pics would be great. Im trying to lift my yj with a high school budget and need to get as many options as i can find and this is one of them iv heard. Thank you
