Bad Slave Cylinder?

My clutch pedal is squeaking and grinding like a mofo. I grabbed a can of WD40 and a flash light thinking it was just a sticky joint or something but it is coming from the black cylinder on the drivers side of the trans. Is this "fixable" or is it something that needs to be replaced? And if it needs to be replaced, does the trans have to come down with it?

The trans shifts fine but it is just the clutch pedal.

Thanks.

I was grinding a hair last week and my pedal was engaging way, way down on the floor. Turns out that I'd not checked the actual clutch Fluid level in FOREVER!

After removing the support that runs directly OVER the reservoir cap, I added fluid to the proper level and hooray! It's all better!

Havea peek there first.

check the fluid first.

have you noticed the clutch engaging at a lower point at all? is it tough to get the transmission into gear from neutral?

usually its tough to shift if your slave/master is going. if the master connected to the pedal correctly?

does anyoneknow if the 94 has the internal or external slave?

if its internal the tranny has to come down, if its external it does not.

Trans shifts fine. No grinding and no trouble getting into any gear. I can feel some tension in the clutch pedal and it squeaks at the slave cylinder.

Did you ever find out the problem?

I have the same thing happening. Clutch pedal squeaks going in or out but no tranny problems. When my dog is sitting next to it in the driveway his ears perk up cause he thinks its a squeaky toy.
