Axles and Gears?

Bought a '92 and had some fun this summer in Colorado, but see the need for some improvements....

Have'nt decided on which lockers and gears to go to, but need some help determining what I have already....Maybe the numbers will tell the story....Here they are,..Need interpreter

Front Diff Cover (side between cover bolts) 52068203
4 10 610393 4

Front Axle - 1 15 97 8C 610393 4

Rear Diff Cover - (Center of Cover)
308 1
Rev E
Rear Diff Cover (side between cover bolts)
4 11 5502 4

Transfer case Tag - NP231 J
5300 8211
17 92 2
272 ratio

I'm assuming the 4 11 and 4 10 indicates the gears, but should'nt they be the same?

Just beginning to learn....Need some feed back

That's normal for the front to be 1 to 2 higher (numerically lower). What you can do is take your VIN down to a dealer and ask them to run a Function 69 (yeah I know, makes the number really easy to remember though) on it. That will give you a printout of your Jeep as it was produced in the factory. You'll know everything about it then.

I just put those gears in my Jeep. You have 4.10's, unless the previous owner changed them. Osborn's right, the front is supposed to be a little different than the rear.
