If it were me, I'd get an 8.8 and just do it righti got free superior 30 spline shafts for my d35 and an almost free new Detroit, so it was the route I went. Depending on what size tire and gear ratio you run, a 14 bolt may be a good option. Run a small spacer up front to match the rear. It has to be a dually rear though. Only for 35" plus tires. You'd probably never break it under seriously hard use.
