axle disconnect question

On my 89, the vacuum actuator went out and all the vacuum lines removed before I bought it. Instead of replacing the vac lines, I installed a push/pull cable to lock the axles. Is there any danger or inherent issues with leaving the axles locked on a permanent basis?

Not at all. Folks do it all the time. If you notice vibrations at higher speeds, you may want to get your front drive shaft balanced.

Ok. Thanks for the info johnboy. I've found that it is a pain to engage/disengage unless you hold your mouth right, the planets are in perfect alignment, etc.
