ax5-d300

hey yall i just found a good deal on a fullwidth chevy hpd44 and was wanting to know if i needed to order conversion parts to mate a d300 to my ax5.
ive got a 95 4cyl/ax5/231 (21 spline) idk what the spline count on the 300 is yet

spend the money to upgrade that tranny. ax-15s can be had for pretty cheap you just have to find one.

well id love to get ahold of this guys np435 he has but im thinking he wants to much for it (400) and id be dropping 300 on the front chevy thats already got my gearset of 488's i want with highsteer and a lunchbox (not a bad deal eh)

I wouldn't spend a dime mating anything to an AX5. just because you buy an axle or any part in general doesn't mean you have to install it next day. if you don't have the funds for a tranny just buy the axle and hold onto it till you can upgrade everything.

AX5 is 21 spline - D300 is 23 spline.

It's not going to work and not worth the effort and cost (for a new input shaft) even if you could do it.



You are better off getting a better tranny with a 23 spline output shaft and then putting it all together.

Yea that's you best bet. I hate to see people spend money on things that don't make sense. I just collect parts until I have everything to do what I want, The side of our house is starting to look like a junk yard threw up
