Ax-5 Rebuild

I have question for anyone with experience tearing down and replacing 5th gear on the Ax-5 or even the Ax-15, since it is neary the same. Is there any place to get a manual on the transmission itself? I will go by the factory manual if need be, but one from Asin would be better. Also, any tips would be of great help.

Second, if I actually get it back together, what gear lube should I put in it? I am guessing it should not be GL-5 like all the manuals say. I am leaning toward a synthetic to avoid having to do the rebuild again for awhile.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
