AX-15 Bell Housing

Does anyone know where i can get a bell housing for a 94 YJ?? I've looked all over and cannot find one. I cracked mine when my u-bolt straps broke and the drive shaft went around. It bent the output shaft from the transfercase and then cracked my bell housing from the starter around the top.

Thanks,

Josh

why just a 94 bell housing? why not look for a 94-99 bell housing? my ax15 is from a 98 and it all bolts up fine. i'd post on the wanted section of your local and some national boards. YOu will find one quick if you post for a bunch of years. I used to see them go on ebay for cheap every once and a while. T

Hey ...check out the 93. It could work as the casting is probably the same. You just have to move over the fork pivot from yours.

I put a 94 in my 89 that had the peugeot and it looked exactly the same. The old one even had the mounting for the cps sensor.

The castings are different. One has bolt bosses for the inside slave and the other for an outside slave. Stick with finding a '94/'95 bell housing.

I had the problem of finding one when I was dong my ax15 conversion. Call up a place called "Wabash Auto". Its a salvage yard in Wabash Indiana. They had one for me sitting on their shelf and they shipped it same day so that was nice. I lost their phone number but just go to yellowpages.com and you will find it.

Look for an XJ with an external slave setup. I just grabbed a complete 96 XJ AX15 for $180! All I wanted was the bell housing, seal housing and fork to have when the time comes for a clutch/slave replacement. A lot more XJs available.

You can find these on ebay very frequently. You need any Jeep 94 or newer AX 15 bellhousing (well, don't get one that was right hand drive), and you can also look for NV3550 Jeep bellhousing which will fit on the AX15 without modification. Whatever you find first, and/or cheapest.

If you get an AX 15 bellhousing 93 or older, it is set up for Internal clutch slave and will not work for an external clutch slave setup.

I have one that came off a 1998 TJ. It is sitting in my garage and I would sell it for $100. I hope this is a legal post, I've been banned from the TJ forum for what they called trolling, something I didn't do as it "is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers", I never tried to provoke anyone ...
