autometer gas gauge help plx!

87 yj 4.2

Just did the cj dash swap.

Installed the gas gauge and works fine but when I turn the headlights on the gauge jumps too full.

Where is the best place to ground the gauge? Because the frame is probly grounded to the headlight switch and most likely interfering with it somehow??

thx in advance

The fuel pump and guage should ground back near the tank IMO. That is way too long a run with the ground. I dont think the guage ground is your issue. I would think your lighting ground is bad.
