Aussie locker and boomerang shackles

I ordered an aussie locker for the front of the YJ today. also ordered front and rear 5/8 inch lift MORE boomerang shackles
I will keep you posted with pics. Im sure I can do the shackles but the locker will be a bit more chalenging, but I hope not. The next project will be a posi-lok and im not sure if I want to go with the manufactured one or a home built

I'm telling you, our Jeeps are becoming more and more alike.

No Posi needed, cause you'll be putting in new solid axles.

okay so does that mean more wear and tear on my front diff or no it wont be spinning: sorry bout the newbie stuff here just tryin to understand. i get the point that there will no longer be a need for the posi lok due to the axle being one piece but will everything up front still be spinning even tho i wont be in 4wd?

Yes, thing will be spinning all the time, but it's no big deal as far as wear and tear go. The problem is that YJs have an unbalanced front driveshaft and it could vibrate. You will need to get it balanced.

Where did you hear this....My shaft has balancing weights on it...factory.
I've always wondered where the myth came from.

On topic and to the OP...When you install your locker, make sure you clean clean clean everything around that area and your work space. Grit is your enemy!!

I heard the myth on here.

At least mine was unbalanced. I guess some of them came balanced from the factory, but you'd wonder why they would balance them if it was unnessary.

Im not sure if its that they are unbalanced or just getting worn out. I replaced mine due to vibes and it was a world of difference on the interstate.
