i have 96 zj. i installed auburn ected locker front dana 30 . But since i changed my tires with 35x10.5x16 silverstone extreme 117 i broke my ring pinion 2 times in 2 months and i uninstalled the ected locker. İ think when it's working LSD ring and pinion couldnt resist LSD. İs there any idea or solution for this problem? Ected's installation manual it is recommended max 31'' tire for ected locker. can it be the main reason?

thanks

Was it professionally installed? I think your problems go deeper than your carrier choice

Personally, I would go with eaton over the auburn. I have no personal experience with the E-locker but my buddy has one for his 44 rear and loves it.

my personal favorite is ARB. A lot of guys have issues with the ARB setup but Ive heard nothing but good from the guys who have em installed correctly and run the air line as either a hard line through the engine bay or in fuel line to protect the air line from the heat.

Don't get mad at a legitimate thread necro!

At least he used the search feature and found a thread already started in which to post his question, used resized images, and asked a reasonable question.

I'm fine with the resurrection, its the OP's question being answered by the subsequent posts that doesn't make sense to me. Does nobody look at the dates when they post?

Oh dang! Youre right Anti, thanks. Makes a lot more sense why he was asking Eaton vs Auburn. I know even now Eaton's seem to not have much documentation like Ox or ARB.

@Mert, just curious but what brand ring and pinion did you run?

Just for S&G's... if it was a front and I'd go full selectable like e-locker/arb/ox. Rear, either are ok, auburn would be cool cause you have LSD normally and locked when you need it.

I have heard some bad raps on the eaton e-locker on 8.8's, but that I THINK was the old design (back when this thread was new lol).

I got an Elocker upfront and it required SPECIAL Eaton Carrier bearings for my D30. Not sure if thats for every carrier or just the D30, so just FYI, do the research.

lol i see what you did there Cheer's Anti!

Edit: back on topic, I have an Ox locker, but I haven't put it in yet; they seem like the no-nonsense lockers to me. open=stock, locked=locked.
