I did one out of aluminum, so it wouldn't be any different for diamond plate except for the sanding and coating. The tuffy glove box would easily fit into this design.

This of my wheelin' friends Matt Pascoe's CJ dash conversion on his Sahara YJ. It's one of the cleanest conversions I've seen. He paid extream close attention to detail.

It started out looking like this:

Then after Matts handywork, it turned out like this:

CJ Style Dash?

Guys,

I like the work people have done on their dashboard panels. One question, do you lose your front windshield defrosters when a CY style dash is installed?

Thanks,

13

you do, unless you rig something up. Most just live without it or figure out a way to run it hidden.

Yes but I'm working on a fix for that. I want to use the actual window frame as the defroster with small vents going around the inside. I just have to find the right vent. The window defroster off of 84-89 300zx is looking good but I'm waiting for measurements from a guy.

Very good. How about you? Shot a few hundred rounds, forgot the old laptop though.

I might be able to send my old window (windshield) frame to you for mock up. I have a new one since the original is rusted pretty bad. Let me know. We are getting a group of friends around for Saturday to finish the gearing on the rear axle and start work on the front axle.

Looks like those 4 cut outs are the vents...they don't look terribly effective though (maybe a warmer climate Jeep?).

You can try PMing Matt Pascoe (that's his username on this board) for some details. He did have a write-up thread on at least 2-3 BB's. Maybe there's one here, I'm not sure.

Yep, that's part of the defroster system. He's just north of me, so yes, he's in SoCal/San Diego area. We don't get too much inclimate weather unless were go up in the local mountains or high desert. Local mts & high deserts are often 5K - 8K ft.

Dang.... I wanted to see some pics of that laptop with some AR holes in it. And maybe a close range 12 gauge hole where the start button would be on the screen.

I think I'll be able to get by for now but I will PM you if I think it will help.

I threw in a diamond plate dash this past summer. The defrost duct fits up to the top horizontal piece of the square bar sub frame then out the 1/4" holes drilled across the top. works fine.
