Antirock on a YJ

I'm sick of my disconnects. Has anyone ever installed the Currie Antirock (or similar) on a YJ? The guys at Currie said it would fit.

THis sure sounds like a GREAT time for U to help out all other Jeepers and go ahead and get one and do an official test for all the rest of us. I ca'nt think of anyone else more qualified or right for the job.

Please let us know how it works.

i asked this question a year or so ago and got bashed for it. so many stating it wasnt needed. my official response is anyone who takes there kids in there jeep ought to have a disconnecting swaybar and trackbar. just responsible. alittle massaging and it should work.

My sway bar ended up in the parts pile a long time ago. I didn't even notice a difference (in handling) when i disconnected it so i just took the whole thing off

Some people do that. I don't believe in ditching the sway bar altogether and I certainly don't want to make this thread about whether or not a sway bar is required. I want to keep mine, I'm just sick of the whole disconnect thing.

Until you said that I thought he was being sincere.

So I take it that no one has used the antirock on a YJ?

HI Paul,
I am in total agreement with your keeping the sway and track bars. As such I have attempted to have my cake and eat it too. To this end I have installed the JKS Quicker disconnects and the JKS telescoping track bar. I'm impressed with both. I dumped my conventional swaybar disconnects because of frustration.

It's a few more dollars but worth it I think.

Sorry, but I don't have any experience with the Currie units.

i wanted to do the anti-rock on mine but saw it wasnt an option for a yj so i left it at that, in my mind it should work, my only thought of why it wouldnt is the mounts on the axle, not sure where they are located on a tj since they have coils and on a yj they are on the spring plates. u might have to do some custom work for the mounts on the axles and thas all i see having to be done. but i removed my sway bar a month ago and i noticed no difference so im keeping mine off, but might consider the anti-rock.

the only problem i can forsee, is the mounting of the sway bar itself. the sway bars on tj's go over the top of the frame, but on yj's, they are underneath. this may cause a problem w/ the antirock. but w/ some fab work, may be feasable.

One of my friends has an Antirock on his 90 YJ. It was installed by a shop in Salt Lake so I do no know if any mods were needed. I am not extremely impressed with the performance but I believe it will fit.

the antirock torque bar runs through the front crossmember and not over the top of the frame as in the stock tj location.
