alternator upgrade

i put a elec. fan on and i need to upgrade my alternator. what is the direct bolt in upgrade from stock. 1990 jeep wrangler 2.5L

I'm not sure about the 2.5L, but a common swap on the 4.0L is to use an alternator from a Dodge Ram V-10 pickup. It has the same size housing (as the 4.0L) but produces more amperage. The V-10 alternator has a 7 groove serpentine belt vs. the 6 groove on the (again, 4.0L is my reference here) Jeep alternator, so a pulley swap will be required, but the shafts are the same size & they are interchangable. You can even use your old alternator as a core return at the parts store.

1990 and older is not the same charging system as the 4.0, they have delco alternators.

Maybe the OP can research a similiar swap, using Delco alternators?

there isn't one that's a perfect bolt in swap, but the CS-144 alt is pretty close to it. try a search, this has been covered many times.
