Alloy USA Billet Axle Seals
I bought a set of these about 2 years ago from DC4WD and finally got a chance to install them so I installed the one of the drivers side with RTV and then go eat dinner. When I come back the RTV is dry so I insert the axle shaft and put the brakes on, jobs half done right? Not quite. I proceed to install the passenger's side the same way and when I go to insert the axles shaft in it the shaft doesn't fit because the inner diameter of the seal is too small. This being the case I take the seal out before the RTV has a chance to set. Now I don't know what to do. DC4WD is no longer in business and Alloy went bankrupt and is run by another company. When I ordered the seals I specifically said I had a 91 YJ which means I have the 3 piece axle. What to do what to do? Anyone had any experience with Alloy USA or this issue in general?

Those seals only work with the one pc TJ style axles. Either dont use the seal or change out the axle on that side and bypass the axle disconnect.

I am almost positive that the add you bought them from said something to the effect:
"will not fit an axle with the vacuum disconnect" Anyhow...Those seals will not fit the passenger side with a 2 piece axle...sorry. |
