Alarm systems

Hey all!!

I have had several people come up to me and tell me I should put an alarm system on my '88 YJ. I am looking for some suggestions on what type of alarm system I should invest in.

I am not trying to kill the back but I am looking in the range of $150-200.

Thanks for your thoughts!!!

:cheers2:

I have a viper with the proximity sensor. It was $300 installed out the door.

There is a lot of free security protocols you could follow to reduce theft but if you need an alarm, look no further than the viper.

Put a kill switch in.

I prefer the compustar systems over the viper. I've had a few of both and used to be a mecp certified installer. These days I just don't find a need for an alarm. I live in a gated home, don't leave anything in my cars, jeep is in the garage. Truck has factory remote start. Remote start is all I ever really cared about.

The kill switch is easy and cheap. The alarm is useless as far as stopping any one from stealing something when you have a wrangler with the soft top and doors. Don't ever leave anything inside that is worth stealing.

I opted for a kill switch myself and leave nothing of value in my YJ. But if you want to install an alarm system make sure it is one with the absolute loudest siren(s) (Ones that can make your ears bleed) installed on the inside of the Jeep.
