on a 1992 4.0 engine, I am installing an air intake (old airbox is gone, so I can't go by that).
Can someone tell me what the blue hose in this picture connects to? I know it comes from the top of the valve cover to the air intake tube. But what does it go from the tube to? Is it the charcoal canister? If so, do you know which port?
That's not my jeep, just a google image, but what do you mean by pre filter?
He is saying that you might suck dust into your intake. Notice that the tube from the charcoal canister is AFTER the air filter... I havn't heard of this being an issue but he is suggesting you filter the air from the canister before it reaches your intake.
Actually I'm talking of a fine mesh cover over the filter. K&N, Airaid, and all this type filter are prone to suck in fine dust, they are great for letting in gobs of air, but do a poor job of filtering that air. Below is a link to Airaid pre-filters, K&N will make them too, it is well worth the money. http://www.jeep4x4center.com/air-int...r-799-450.html
Good site to give you performance options in a very friendly layout . For. 95 the the k/n turns backwards like a u. K/N 57-1521 if I remembered correctly prices are from 200-230 depending on where you buy. Amazon has it on Prime so fast free shipping if you have it for 223. Nice air raid ones also that take up a ill less space but airaid cost about 100-150 on avg.
