I had a chance to briefly look at this thing.
I'm impressed. It would take a bit of work with a pry bar to get into it. If I were a thief I would move on to the next victim. I've seen the iVault consoles before, and would pay for that Maxbilt one before taking an iVault for free (if I were in the market). In fact, after seeing this thing, I am starting to give some consideration. I'll have to have a gander at a Tuffy, which is less expensive. But that console Mike picked up is sweet!

Brandon: Here is the Tuffy pieces mine came with. All heavy gauge steel and the locks are 1st class. Mike's is much more awesome - my drink holder is behind me - which is stupid. I'd say a normal thief would move on before trying to tackle these.

![]() I HAVE seen the security glovebox by Tuffy, one awesome piece! I'd just like to get my hands on one of their consoles, to hold, feel, hit, lick... you know. ![]() I'm a metal worker and just want to look at the welds, hems, etc... just one of those things. ![]()

Merry Christmas man! Glad to have you back home safe and sound. Console looks great but not as good as seeing one of our finest back on US soil.

OK, so I tried to install it today, but it was a bit colder than I anticipated. Usually the sense of touch (which was diminishing ever so quickly) is a god thing when trying to remove bolts.
Here is the crappy console I presently have in my 91 YJ. It has the security of a wet paper bag. Plus I think I could kill anthrax with the stuff growing inside of it. ![]() ![]() An unfair advantage goes to MaxBilt in the side by side comparison. ![]() ![]() The bolts for the front are hidden well underneath the front cup holders. ![]() For the rear, you have to remove the inner section of the console. ![]() ![]() The four mounting holes for the rear are located to the rear. ![]() They mount to the riser that keeps the console level. ![]() At this point it just got too cold to continue. Once it warms up... I will finish it up once it gets warmer. |

The new console is huge, (wide), you're probably going to have clearance issues, IE, adjusting drivers seat and rising the passenger seat.
I have trouble with mine too. But I also have aftermarket seats. |

OK got it installed. It took some alterations.... through no fault of MaxBilt. My rollcage proved to be too far fwd for the practical application of the mounting brace that secures to the bottom of the console and the floor. I had to mount it directly to my cage on the floor. (self drilling screws) Had it been installed in a completely stock wrangler... it would have been a 5 min job. Now I just need to wire it up. Pics will be posted tomorrow evening.

This is my Yj it was installed in.
![]() ![]() As stated previously, The fit is a bit snug... but through no fault of MaxBilt. Being that it was designed around a stock wrangler, and not one with a cage such as mine... I am confident it would fit w/o a hitch. ![]() ![]() More to come tomorrow |
