After the rain
Has anyone had a problem with water coming in behind the dash after it rains? If so do you know the cause and how can I fix this annoying problem?

Hasn't happened to me, but some guys have said that your heater air intake (that grill between the winshield and the hood) might be clogged with leaves and stuff.

Few problems to think of:
1) As said above, the 2" drain tube in the engine compartment on the pass side of the engin coming out about 5" below the hood line is clogged. 2) Your windsheild cowl is leaking and needs to be replaced ( involves folding the windsheild down).

I had the same problem when I first bought my jeep. I have a rusted out windshield frame so I bought a new seal and frame. But the rear blew out before I could get it replaced and now the jeep is under major construction. Todd

Its the rubber seal that is sandwiched between the firewall and the window frame that goes out...right?

If you didn't fold down your windsheild then you didn't check the cowel seal right. It will be obvious where the water comes in under the seal.

trying to stop leaks in a jeep is like trying to plug all the holes in swiss cheese. its just not going to happen. lol. mine leaks too and its either from the window seal itself or the cowl seal like everyone else said. if your window has never been folded down then chances are the cowl seal has never been replaced. if you don't plan on folding down your window, when you replace the cowl seal put a thin strip of rtv on the top and bottom of the cowl seal, don't do this if you ever plan on folding down your window though.

I put one of those reverse intakes over my cowl for my fresh air and it keeps the rain out. No problems since then.
