Advice after winning the stuck
This past weekend i was lucky enough to win the stuck competition out of the group eventually resulting with a tow the whole way back to camp and a flat bed ride home.
The details: I was mired pretty bad. The bottom end of the engine and most likely the whole tranny was under water for a while ( had to dig the axles out). The top of the engine was completely dry, i checked the dist. I had some muddy water coming up through vent tube in the bottom of my webber ( i thin the CCV). She started the next morning but ran really rough and died. I didnt want to risk causing any more damage so i had her towed. The question: What should i do? Im going to change the oil and other fluids and make sure all wires are dry and dirt free. Should i do anything to try and clean out the fuel system? Thanks for any advice.

It wouldn't hurt to change your fuel filter they are pretty cheap.
If you were that buried was your exhaust under mud/water when you turned it off/or did it stall. If it was did you restart it while it was under at anytime? The reason I ask is the exhaust can fill with water and mud and create many issues. |

I'd look into cleaning/rebuilding that Weber.
Sorry to hear, by the way. Good luck saving it. |

I don't have an auto, but knowing the experiences of others, I would highly recommend replacing the tranny fluid and filter. The autos have a vent line above and behind the torque converter, which easily ingests the muck when the tranny is buried. Many with autos who run their rigs through mud tend to modify this vent location to prevent destroying their transmissions. There are several threads on this subject, so search for them if this is of interest to you.

ok, so i havent driven her since she got towed ( thank goodness for the ninja) i finally got around to doing an oil change yesterday and the less than normal amount of oil that was in there was all milk shakey. When i go to the top end to fill her back up there is milky slime on the oil filler cap. ive seen this before when i replaced teh head gasket on my cousins maxima so i was pretty sure i just meant water in the oil. Im i right? Also she started right up but pretty much ran like a thrasher at idle. anyone have any suggestions as what to do next?

well i have massive blow by and a horrible knock/tick.
Im looking for a basic at home budget rebuild. not looking for added performance just to get it running again. Ive searched but all the ones ive read are stroking and boring which isnt exactly what i want. Anyone have any suggested reading?

You might be able to get away without grinding the valves but your cyclinders need to be nice an round for the rings to seat right .Or you can do a halfway rebuild new rings bearings and hope it works .
