adding a defroster to hardtop

hey guys in throwing the hardtop on this weekend as it is 50 in my area right now. I had a few questions from last winter that jumped back in my mind

Has anyone ever added a defroster to their hardtop? is it hard to do yourself? How much did it cost? where did you get it?

Also i have the tube that presumably feeds washer fluid to the rear wiper but it has never worked, Anyone know if there is a turn on valve or something that may have been turned off last summer? or any idea as to why it wouldnt work?

Thanks again
rick
