ive googled it, ive searched all the major jeep parts dealers, and i can only find half of what i need. im talking about the adjustable bracket that holds the ends of the cable, one with 2 slots(equalizer ive seen) and the other side with the thread end and a spot for the single cable coming from the parking brake. what is the name of it, and where can i order one? is this something i can just go to an auto parts store to get, or do i need to go to a junk yard? i just need my jeep inspected now, i took it to a garage today, and got hit with three things right away. tires too wide, exhaust leak(gasket between the block and the headers) and e brake doesnt work. well, the e brake doesnt work cuz theres no bracket. i just need to know what its called. thanks!

I checked them, jcwhitney, 4wd, quadratec, even a chrysler site. chrysler had it on there, but it wasnt named. idk, ill call junk yards in the morning. i called autozone they had no idea. i cannot believe i can build a jeep from the ground up with parts from multiple companies, but i cannot buy this part? how is the possible?

im talking about both sides of that. that is the side connecting to the axle cables, i need the threaded piece that attaches to the pedal cable. i really dont get this, how can this be possible that i cannot buy or order this piece from anyone? i mean, a wrangler is the most modifiable vehicle on the planet, with countless production companies geared specifically toward jeep wranglers, enough that they have everything to build one from scratch. but a simple bracket i cannot buy? wtf? and its even worse that its a bracket that is not important, unless u have a serious inspection garage. damnit!

I got mine at a junk yard. I had the old one, which was too rusted to be useful, and brought it down and asked if they had any wranglers. I got lucky on my timing. You don't always see wranglers on junk yards, but this one had just been traded into the junk yard through the "cash for clunkers" deal back when that was a thing. That meant they couldn't sell it as a whole vehicle and they had to cut up the frame and trash the engine for scrap. They were parting out the rest, and the bracket I needed was just sitting on the floor of the tub. I know this isn't particularly helpful to you. I just wanted to share my experience to let you know that it was not an easy part to track down.

This one says it's for a TJ but looks like you might be able to make it work. Ray's Wranglers has it on Ebay. There's a few Jeep parts specialists you might want to look into if that one doesn't work. Collins Bros Jeeps comes to mind, so does Daveys Jeeps. Look into those kinds of places. They have a lot of Yj's sitting around for parts.

well, i went to the chrysler dealer today. the one for the yj they discontinued. it was listed as 2 pieces, but they still have the one for a tj. so i ordered it. i still dont get it, but oh well. im gonna run my jeep up to my buddy see if he will put a sticker on it.

i found the part i needed. it isnt the cables im having the issues with its the piece that adjoins them. but it doesnt matter, my buddy put a sticker on it, he was more worried about the serious issues, suspension, frame, didnt even check the e brake or listen to the motor. as far as my tires, "they werent on it when he inspected it". i live in pa, the law says u gotta be able to drop a quarter from the fender flare and it not hit any part of the tread. my tires stick out 2 inches. cops used to bust balls about it, but not so much anymore. this is the piece i needed. i still have some work on the doors, but im not too worried about them. bikini top is good for now, and it will be in the garage when i go back to work. ill worry about the hard top and doors as the summer progresses.
