acme hard top and doors

Im not sure if i am posting this in the right section, but I have a lead on a set of acme fiberglass doors and hardtop. I know they are for a cj7 but they will be going on my yj. But anyway, to my question, I got the seller down to $250 for the top and doors, the thing is the top is cracked on the rear driver corner pretty bad. I have been researching fiberglass repair, and I think I should be able to do a pretty decent repair job. and I know the strikers for those doors are different than regular yj ones. Does $250 sound like a fair deal? Just looking for opinions. Thanks

I don't know the Acme brand, but $250 sounds like a great deal. The fiberglass problem didn't look that bad - you'll be able to repair it.

yes, that's a great price... and those doors are cool

but those have to be the smallest windows I've ever seen on a hard top

I paid $200 just for doors just like those!!

I have yet to do anything with them yet tho

They have different strikers so if he has them make sure you get those too!!! and any or all attaching hardware, etc.

yeah, that's why I shelved them, and since forgot about them... they are MUCH lighter than my full doors though.... maybe someday....

I fixed my fiberglass top cheap and easy. Drivers side front corner was fractured from a rollover before I got the Jeep. I used a $10 kit from parts house. Sanded down the cracks and feathered the edges very thin and clean. Used Saran Wrap on a cardboard shape on the inside Saran Wrap keep the glass from sticking to the card board I molded into a shape. Cut the cloth up mixed the gel cost and applied them in many wet layers. Sanded to shape and painted. You can't tell the difference. Check out some YouTube videos.

I havent got the strikers yet, I think I am going to try and get some besttop soft door latches that use the stock strikers, and modify the doors to fit the latches on. I think I will be able to make them work. That way I can still run my half doors if i want to. I dont have the hard top on yet either, still need to take all my soft top hardware off.

Sorry for such a large pic. How do I make them smaller? In the pic the doors are just set on the hinges, not latched or anything. I just had to see how they looked on it when I got them home.

Not sure on the pic sizing, I use photobucket and that seems to work pretty good.

I'll be interested to see those latches mounted! Goodluck, sounds like a great way to keep the stock door striker! I might just do the same!
