acme hard top and doors

Im not sure if i am posting this in the right section, but I have a lead on a set of acme fiberglass doors and hardtop. I know they are for a cj7 but they will be going on my yj. But anyway, to my question, I got the seller down to $250 for the top and doors, the thing is the top is cracked on the rear driver corner pretty bad. I have been researching fiberglass repair, and I think I should be able to do a pretty decent repair job. and I know the strikers for those doors are different than regular yj ones. Does $250 sound like a fair deal? Just looking for opinions. Thanks

here is a link to them, dont yall go scooping these up from under me now!

I don't know the Acme brand, but $250 sounds like a great deal. The fiberglass problem didn't look that bad - you'll be able to repair it.

Go grab it. Hurry up before one of these wolves beats you to it. Looked like an easy fiberglass repair.

yes, that's a great price... and those doors are cool

but those have to be the smallest windows I've ever seen on a hard top

I fixed my fiberglass top cheap and easy. Drivers side front corner was fractured from a rollover before I got the Jeep. I used a $10 kit from parts house. Sanded down the cracks and feathered the edges very thin and clean. Used Saran Wrap on a cardboard shape on the inside Saran Wrap keep the glass from sticking to the card board I molded into a shape. Cut the cloth up mixed the gel cost and applied them in many wet layers. Sanded to shape and painted. You can't tell the difference. Check out some YouTube videos.

I havent got the strikers yet, I think I am going to try and get some besttop soft door latches that use the stock strikers, and modify the doors to fit the latches on. I think I will be able to make them work. That way I can still run my half doors if i want to. I dont have the hard top on yet either, still need to take all my soft top hardware off.

here are the latches I think I can make work with the doors. http://www.quadratec.com/products/11047_02.htm

Sorry for such a large pic. How do I make them smaller? In the pic the doors are just set on the hinges, not latched or anything. I just had to see how they looked on it when I got them home.

Not sure on the pic sizing, I use photobucket and that seems to work pretty good.

I'll be interested to see those latches mounted! Goodluck, sounds like a great way to keep the stock door striker! I might just do the same!
