accidentally put some gear oil into my gas tank

I feel like such an idiot. I was trying to put some Lucas Fuel Treatment into my gas tank yesterday but picked up a bottle of 75W-90 gear oil from my garage instead since they were the same bottle size. I poured about 1-2 oz. into the gas tank before realizing I was using the wrong stuff. I had a full tank of gas at the time. I immediately got the right bottle Lucas Fuel Treatment and poured in the amount that I was supposed to use. I drove the Jeep for about 50 miles afterward and did not noticed any idling problems or engine problems. Will there be any long term damage to my Jeep as a result of my stupid mistake?

Should I change out my spark plugs after I use up this tank of gas? Should I change out anything else? (fuel injectors? fuel filter?)

if it was just a couple ounces in 20 gallons of gas I wouldn't worry about it. I probably would not go in for a smog check until you burn a few tanks though.

I wouldn't worry about it either... Run some cleaner through it on your next tank and call it done.

I empty me 2 cycle into the rig after a couple months to keep it fresh. The worst thing you will do is make the cat work a little harder. You dont need to do anything.

1st mistake was thinking the Lucas was going to do anything but drain your wallet. 2nd was dumping a little gear oil.

Both are easily corrected.

Send me the money you blow on additives, I`ll take good care of it.

Other is to not give the gear oil/gasoline a second thought.

That's an old school way of getting rid of mosquitoes, ha ha ha. Just playing, it won't hurt anything but if you put the whole bottle in, the smog police would have been chasing you down because it would have been smoking till that tank was used up

I don't feel like working on anything at this time so i sold my yj.
