About 85% of my Spice is GONE! Some special pics...

I finally got all the seats swapped, dash painted and a new steering wheel. All that is left is the visors, center console and the door panels... I am going to keep the roll cage padding spice... It gives it a slight touch IMO... Also took off the pin stripes and Sahara badges.

Before

After

Wow your interior looks great! Like the new steering wheel too. Did you paint the inside of the doors as well?

Nah, haven't done the doors just yet... Since I will be rubbing on them a bit and possibly damaging the paint, I would like to get actual black panels instead of painting them. I was thinking the black diamond plate door panels... Thanks for the compliments guys! It was a pain getting the speaker panel part of the dash out to paint, but that was also the perfect time to do the mirror relocation brackets! LOL!

Also, Grant makes some horn buttons, but don't know which to get... What are your opinions? There is one that says Jeep and a Mopar one... I like both but think Jeep would be more appropriate...

ETA: They don't make a black Jeep button it seems... Looks like only chrome... But they DO have a black Mopar button...

Sorry, looks nice but I think the Spice looks a LOT better. To each their own...

Also, I have a black "Jeep" button from Grant. Got it with my wheel.

Looks great! Strange how Jeep mixed up interior colors. I have basically the same sahara except its a 93, and my carpet is dark green and all my trim/dash is dk gray or dk green. I like the new look.

Looks good man, definitely like the pink seat in the back hehe.

Very clean jeep, before and after! What kind of seats are those?

IMO, I would definitely do something to those gauges, make stand out a little or something. They make white backings that are real cheap, looks ok.

Anyway, I do like the black over the the spice, just dont park in the sun

I'm in the same boat i think....i think you did a great job and it does look good, but the original interior combo (if it was original) looked so "unique" if it's the right word...

but your new interior will probably take better to wheeling with the top off

Yes, Grant has a black button for their Signature Series wheels, but this one is the Challenger Series... I dunno, maybe the Chrome will set it off a bit...

That was going to be my next step... But I am wondering how the Tuffy will fit between the two seats... Right now the original console is TIGHT with the new seats.

The seats are Smittybilt. I forget which line, but they are fairly comfortable! Hard to get in and out with the new side supports and the original steering wheel... The new steering wheel is a lot smaller so I can fit in easier! LOL! As for parking in the sun? Yeah... When I was 3-4 years old I can STILL remember my dads 83 CJ and the black leather on those seats... OH BOY! It got so hot at times I would just crawl up, then start crying cause it hurt! Then again, this was in California and I was younger... Now I think I am almost used to it! Hahaha....

You have to buy the Grant 3196 steering wheel adapter kit for about $20 at your local Grant supplier. If you follow directions, it SHOULD be okay, but it took me a bit of time to get what they are saying... I am a picture type of guy and the pictures weren't too good... But took me all of about 15 minutes to install.... If you need help, don't hesitate to PM me and I will send you a step by step of MY interpretation of the installation.

It's a little old and had one of the horn button screws break off... But I am sure you can drill it out and tap a new hole for it... If you want it, just give me a couple of bucks for shipping. Steering wheels are heavier than I though and will be awkward to ship... So, maybe $15?

they have 3 sizes... 6.5, 8, and 10 inch. the 6.5 fits perfectly.

you washed away a sahara? i always like the inside of those, the way they mixed the colors. i liked the seats most. mine is a sand color, and i started mixing it more and more with black, but i'm going for a two-tone look. all and all you made it look new! that color will always give it away though....
