95 yj no fire no fuel pump

I have a 95 yj with 2.5 motor. while working on boat one night i was listening to the radio and forgot about turning off when done. I left the ignition switch on all night. Next day went to jeep and charged battery and now it wont start it just turnes over. Did not hear fuel pump kick on so I started there. After I jumper the relay i found the fuel pump works. Its just not got any power going to it. Now I relize I dont have any fire to plugs either. Could I have burnt the ecm up by leaving key on. Where should i go from here. Thanks in advance for any help.

Joey the first thing to do is to see if the check engine light comes on and goes off when you turn the ignition on. If it does then check your codes like this:
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/h...codes-1257145/
Post back the codes or that you don't get the cel. I don't think you ruined the ecu.

no fire, no fuel usually is a CPS. i would do as que says and check the CEL first.
you could also check your ASD relay, switch the one for the horn and see if the situation changes.

however a bad computer will produce a similar situation. i would eliminate the other (cheaper) possibilities first though.

ok so heres what I did. I did already switch the horn relay which i know works with the fuel pump relay and auto shutdown relay. Nothing worked. I jumped in jeep and turned ignition on and there is no check engine light that comes on. Only a brake light when try to start. Not sure what this means. What should I check now.

Then it is easy. You blew one of the fuses. Check the ign. lps fuse and the dome fuse at the fuse box at the drivers feet. Check all the fuses under the hood in the pdc. I think the one for the ign. feed is a 40 amp but I am sure you will find a fuse bad.

im not argueing with you que, but for my information, and so i am not passing along false info in the future...

is it not possible for the conditions i mentioned when the CEL does not cycle at the turn of the key, or is it the other way around?

Yes, it is exactly right. The first thing to check is the fuses to make sure they are good. Then power at the ecu. If both of those are good then you look at the ecu repair/replace. Since he left the music on and ran down the battery I am betting a fuse is bad. I never take a question as an argument. Here its about helping, asking questions, and learning. Every day here I learn something new!

wow that was a awesome thread que. well I checked the computer like that thread said and unfortanatly I found the computer tested bad. At least I know now. Still dont understand how leaving the key on over night killed it but stranger things have happened. I guess it was on its way out anyway. Thanks so much for the help. I will let you know what happens after I get computer.

i had a computer go bad almost immediately when i did my v-8 swap. on the bright side... i have an extra crank and cam sensor.

there is a guy that always has mopar ECMs for sale on e-bay. i picked one up for like $60, 3 years later and it is still going strong.

any ECM for a YJ 2.5L before 1997 will work, standard or auto.

If you can solder just replace the bad caps. It's a $10 repair.

I know you said any for a 2.5 will work. I found one on ebay for $115 bucks. It says its for a yj 4 banger. The model number is different then mine. Its number is 56027380 and my model num is 56028828. I just wanted your opinion before I ordered it.
