95 Wrangler Heater Core Dead

Hey guys- I was driving to work this morning and my heater core of my 95 Wrangler crapped the bed. I took it to my mechanic and am wondering how badly my wallet is going to hurt. I'm thinking around $500 because it is so labor intensive to replace. Am I in the right ball park? What do you guys think? Thanks

Wrong park! The part is less than $50, and it would take less than an hour to DIY. The Jeep has one of the easiest cores to replace on the planet!

Heck you could have done it at home and have it back on the road in about 1.5 hrs. That is taking it out and back in. Refilling and warming up the jeep again to test it.

^^ agreed, just did mine monday and upgraded my blower motor to the same as what you have in yours and it only took me about 3 hours, that includes cutting the firewall for the blower motor.

Heater core only about 1.5 hours.

Even if you have someone do it you should be looking at around 3 bills give or take and not five for a new core plus labor.

Shop time about $70 an hour(unless at a dealer then jump that to about 90), part after their markup $75 Should be about 210 or less.
