95 Rio Grande AX-5 Transmission Question

I am rebuilding a 95 ax5 and I am having trouble identifying a part that magically appeared on the bench during shifter rod removal. Is there a short round ended needle bearing in one of the holes that have the spring & ball bearing?

It's difficult to figure out exactly what part is in question. Can you possibly post a pic.
Otherwise, below is an exploded view & description of the AX-5 transmission. Can you find your "mystery" part?

You're talking about one of the "plugs" right? The cylindrical shaped metal pieces that are placed inside the intermediate plate that hold the shift rails in place?

Yep.......he needs your pdf file to see where it goes.

Jake, please look in my "Transmission" album & see if you can see the pic I have of the vacuum hose with a magnet in it for reinstalling those. If you can post that pic in this thread.

It's a small magnet that I removed from the end of a small pocket screwdriver handle & inserted it in a vacuum hose. The pic shows it poked through one of the shift rail holes in the plate.

Thanks Jake!

Max

Host it on an image site (photobucket, imageshack, etc....) and then include the link from the site that includes the image tag that looks like {IMG}url_to_image_goes_here{/IMG} but with the [ & the ] brackets instead of the { } brackets I used in my example.

I found it! It was the pin in the reverse rail. It is now installed in it's proper location, and the trans will go back in the YJ tomorrow. Thanks for all the help.
