95 jeep yj transfer case noise

hello there i have a np231 tc and the rear yoke has play in it so i got the bearing bushing and seal i was under their and noticed that when i turn the ds it makes a clanking noise from the rear of the transfer case when you turn it side to side and when i shift i also feel it in the lower gears what could it be i haven't changed any thing yet thanks

Is there any way to tighten the chain or just replace it and if so should I replace any thing else wile I'm in there

replace the chain and buy a rebuild kit for the case. they are real simple cases to tear apart/put back together.
