Need to get those axles POR-15 coated two,
I'm sick of the "orange" tone...liking the black though

After the welding is done, I'll install the new shackles and springs...Pics to follow..

THX for looking

what did you think about that marine clean? That stuff is awesome. I was POR'ing my front bumper this summer and when I was prepping (using the marine clean) the powder coat was just melting away. I bought some more marine clean to use as a general cleaner.

Iwas just catching up on your project...You are keeping at it and that is fantastic.

I was just curious, did you buy an aftermarket sleeve for the shackle bushing? or did you just use some stock??

What are you going to do to treat the inside of the box you are making for the repair??

THX alot...

Not sure what u mean about the sleeve, you mean the hole in the rear frame where you connect the shackles? if so, There is lots of metal still around there, so I'm gonna use the stock ones...

I am goin to spray inside the front ond back of the frame with POR-15 or similar, and after that dries, I am going to spray linseed oil in all the openings, I hope that'll last me a little while

It's hard to find a lot of time to work on it with the kids and family stuff, but it is coming along, THX again...

Looking good. POR 15 helps a lot. I'm still piecing together my welding supplies, and finding the time to work on the Jeep.

Dump it

You might want to find a cheap YJ and use yours as a parts vehicle. You have alot of work ahead of you and it's probrably not worth it in the long run. Try to find a YJ with a decent tub and frame with high miles or a bad motor.
