getting a hold of a newer frame might be better in the long run unless you are going to dip the enitre inside and outside in POR-15....but i dont think that would be cost effective or worth all the work...

i would just switch for a newer frame from the junkyard

I doubt I'll find a frame in Canada without similar probs...

I'm just gonna oil the inside of the frame and por-15 the outside, that'll delay the inevitable for a little while

I only had the holes in the rear around the schackle bushings. I took a piece of 4mm sheet metal with a hole for the bushing and welded it in the frame. i'll see if I have some pictures

been looking all around my PC but can't find any pictures of the fab work on the frame. just get all te rust grinded out, clean the holes and make sure you have enough parent material to weld on and get some 3 or 4 mm thick sheetmetal to make the inserts and start welding!!

good luck!!

Did u do anything to the inside of the frame?

I am going to spray oil inside and plug up the holes....anyone else have experience with this?

Yep, I just rebuilt the whole back box channel, the last 20" of it because there just wasn't enough metal to weld to. I cut each channel off and made new channel and tied the two together with a 2" x 4" bumper.
