93 YJ L.E.D. dash lights

I was wondering if there is a way to change the color of my Gauges lighting?
Ive done some searching but only can come up with the interior lights
If any one has a site that sells bulbs or any info let me know

Your backlight bulbs should be 194 wedge bulbs. I particularly like what www.autolumination.com offerse - just be sure to get a wide-angle bulb, and be sure that it is not too "fat" around the edges so it will fit into the clusters.

Also, you must have been searching the wrong words...

This should be a good thread for you:

Those second link I posted... click on it and scroll...

To save you the effort of using your fingers:

The first link was to a search, which apparently you can't do. Try "LED dash" "dash backlight" "cluster backlight" ... etc.

HOW TO: replace your backlights:

Different color w/ tinted 194 bulb:

You can also find them at www.superbrightleds.com. Just ordered some for mine a couple days ago.

7 194 bulbs for dash gauges ($2.79 ea.) and 1 P74 bulb ($3.49) for rear wiper switch area came to $28.02 shipped. I still need to order some more. Forgot about the lights behind the vent/heat controls.

I'm really happy with how it came out. Looks great. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to see the red very well on the black gauges. No problem!

BTW...I went with the red LEDs. Trust me, the pictures don't do them justice. They are nice and bright, but yet, they don't impede your night vision.

what size is needed for the vent/heat illumination?
Curious enough to ask.... too cold to pull the dash to see for myself. LOL
Would like to order all of them so I have them in hand when the weather breaks.
Thanks...

I haven't had time to look over the past few days. A major ice storm has kept us pretty busy at the firehouse. I'll try to dig into it tomorrow to see what we need.

I do know that the size for the bulbs in the gauges (at least for a 95 YJ) are 194. The smaller bulbs are P74.

I'll post the size for the vent/heat as soon as I can, just incase you haven't had a chance to look yet.

I've also been trying to figure out whether or not the factory headlight switch has its own internal illumination. If so, mine is out. I'm always hunting for the headlights. Going to have to figure something out for that as well.

There are a lot of bulb choices for the 194 socket... http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/bulb_specs.htm

Which did you go with?

I went with the one on the bottom of the page. (The R6) Note: when you twist the bulbs out of the back of the instrument panels, the bulb sockets come out with bulbs. You'll have to pull the bulb out of the plastic base, insert the new LED bulb, and reuse the plastic base. (took me a little bit to figure that out...I thought the base was part of the bulb ) The R6 bulbs I got are not polar specific. So, they'll work either way you insert them into the base. Just twist them back into the instrument panel and you're done. That's it!

How long did it take you to swap out the entire dash?

Maybe 30-45 minutes. It takes longer to get the shroud and instrument clusters out than it does to replace the bulbs. Just a matter of a few Phillips screws.

Just read another thread pertaining to this subject. Read that there is only one bulb within the climate control module.
