93 Jeep YJ Turn Signal Lever Replacement

Some one walked by my Jeep and broke off my signal lever the other night (I have the event on my security cam).
After reading all the instructions about how to pull the wheel and all the doom and gloom that goes with it I fixed it in about 15 minutes today.
First I picked up a used lever for $10.00 at a wrecker. He said it was from a Chevy S10.
I drilled a very small pilot hole in the broken shaft on the column then drilled a slightly bigger hole, both about 1/4" deep.
I then threaded in an old sheet rock screw I had lying around. I thought it would come out hard but it could have been pulled out by hand. I then lined up the new (used) lever and popped it right in. Kind of a non-event.
I hope this saves somebody a bunch of worries and headaches.

Just as a reference, Help Parts (Dorman) has a GM replacement in chrome or black for under $10. I used one from Autozone
