92 yj rear pinion seal

Mines leaking, am I going to have to disassemble the whole rearend(remove pinion) to replace this seal?

Mine leaks also. I was just going to post this same question. From what I can see it looks like all you have to do is drop the driveshaft, then remove the pinion nut, then replace the seal. But Im not sure. I just looked at an exploded veiw of the dana 35 axle...thats what Im basing this assumption on.

Do a search for "pinion seal removal" There are some very good writeups there.

I had a pinion seal leak in a '91 4.0 YJ that I had and I just drained and replaced the diff. fluid with 100% Lucas Oil and it didn't leak when I sold it after 2 1/2 years.
