Wrenched on the jeep lately,
Por 15'd the gas tank with silver and then toped it with some red.
Then finally drilled and covered the radiator mount hole. The hole is 1 and 1/8 inch fyi.
Tap'd the body mounts and fixed the front one. I had to use the dremel to cut a hole in the front to get at the mount. Check out the old one lol.
If you havent figure it out by now ive decided to keep the beat up tub and try and fix it. Only time will tell if it was a bad idea.
I have two more body mounts to fix and then weld the side panels in. After that im going to paint the underside and inside and herc it. Then ill put the body back on and take care of the door cowl rot then. Thats my plan any way.

Lol, I just saw this thread for the first time.
After seeing your pictures on page one my first thought was "Man, that rusted out heap has a really nice battery!"
edit to add:
I'm looking forward to following this thread, you've got your work cut out for you.

Good build. It's coming along nicely. I'm looking to do this to my 94 when I get back to the US. Hardly any rust, though. Here in Germany, you can't do major repairs in your driveway. Something about the environment or something

POR15 is supposed to be applied on rust and kept out of the sun.

por15 is supposed to be left on the shelf, chassis saver supports the jeep community. Use that, its better.

Never heard of chassis saver? As far pot 15. If you go to the site it sounds like there are several steps to using it. Not just paint it on. Only sure to stop rust is to got rid by grinding or cutting. I have several hours into body work and I still have 2 places showing bubbles. The the jeep has barely left the driveway.

Man check this out. Go to harbor freight and get a grinder. Go to you're local craft store (I have 4 kids so ask youre wife) and get some card board. Take it apart (Like you did) and trace parts of cardboard out to match the places that are rusted out. Make some sheet metal parts like the cardboard then..... Cut off everything! You'll have a bunch of fun and replace each part with the sheet metal. Like a kids puzzle it'll all come together. There are so mane places that sell replacement panels for jeeps. Don't bother fixing them just cut and weld back in. I had a Suzuki Samuari like that. I can send you pics. Just go postal on it! Take pick!!! Mike

Havent made an update in awhile soo... Its due.
I did some more body work today on the panels. I plan on finishing 90% of the tub welding and body work today. I wana por 15 and herc it soon! Hopefully.
And i painted the roll bar pads black. Im guna have the whole roll bar black too. And i think i've made the final decision to paint my jeep yellow. Funny thing is one of the only reasons i bought the car was bc it was white... But I'm thinking it deserves a crazy color for all the hard work thats been put into it.

Yellow is the way to go! Great work and perseverance, I nearly gave up many times while working on my tub, and it wasnt nearly as bad. Good luck
