I'll start with a little history on the project vehicle. In 1991 I bought my first new vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler YJ w/ the 4.0, this was my baby, I had a couple of CJ's before but this was my first Wrangler. I built it up exactly the way I wanted it and it was my pride & joy. However, in 95' my wife got pregnant with our son so the Wrangler got sold and I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I sold the Wrangler to a friend of my dad's and hadn't seen him or the Jeep since I sold it in 95'. Just before X-mas last year I was at the Lowe's Hardware by a job I was doing and in the front parking space was my old Jeep. My old Jeep was one of kind - Dark blue metallic w/ tan interior, 5 tone Wrangler decal on the hood, 3 tone stripe on the body; so when I saw the jeep I knew it was my old Jeep, I peaked in the window & it still had the A/D/S 300is speakers mounted in the doors so I was positive it was my old ride. I waited in the parking lot for about 15 minutes til the owner came out & it was the guy I sold it to 12 years ago. We start talking & I asked him if he was ready to sell the Jeep, he was & it was sitting in my garage the next week. Let me tell you this did not go over with the misses real well since her car got kicked out of the garage to make room for my new toy.
So my baby & I are reunited. It took me a couple of months to figure out what I wanted to do with her, she was still in great shape for her age - no rust except for the windshield frame and 2 small spots in the floor that I found later, a few small dents hear and there and I one pretty good dent below the driver side door where a deer had ran into the side of it - thank goodness for the nerf bars. Well I decided I wanted to get her back to the way she looked when I had her in 91' but even better. So the plan was created to do a frame off restoration w/ a 350 swap.
Here's a link to some pics of it so far:
