91 blower motor replacement

I have traced my heating problems to the blower motor and am a little puzzled as to how to replace the motor. I appears to be sandwiched between the fire wall and the venting shrowed. I hope that this is not the case as I can not find the bolts to remove either. Hoping that someone can shed some light on this case. Thanks.

You will have to take out the whole heater box assembly and Its kind of a pain. From what I remember there were 4 main nuts on the firewall on engine side that held it in (not including the rest of the crap in the way to get it out). You also have to take off the heater core hoses from inside the firewall so you might want to consider changing the heater core while its out. I didn't change mine but most people recommend to. It was worth it in the end for me. I put in a blazer blower motor and it's like 5 times more powerful than the stock blower motor

Ditto what uhohth50 said. Be careful if disconnecting the control cables, those plastic fasteners are brittle with age and difficult to find replacement cables. I have not figured out the trick to getting those disconnected. You will have to open the heater box to replace the heater core. Point is do all the maintenance you can while it is out, since there is a lot of disassembly involved in getting to it.
